At an isolated hilltop temple in Battambang

An isolated temple in the far north of Battambang province.

Villagers were at the temple for a holy day.

Each asked to have their photo taken.

Happy to oblige!

Their village was one of the last strongholds of the Khmer Rouge, and they recall being shelled by Vietnamese forces daily.
