Battambang Province Cambodia

A worker gathers the stalks after the rice harvest.

The straw is then carted off and formed into huge stacks, and used to feed the cows and buffalo in the dry season. (It’s not great feed, however, being low in digestible energy, crude protein and calcium)

It’s hot work, so they start at around 7.00AM and take lunch at 10. Work starts again at 2.00PM.20170128-dsc_1063
