  1. The spirits are thirsty.

    But why Fanta Nam Daeng (Red Fanta)?

    Perhaps, because red is a lucky colour.
    Or, it is the colour of blood and thus a symbol of life.
    Some say it is offered because it is the King of Thailand’s favourite drink.
    Others say it has long been this way and it’s now almost a tradition.

    Red and sickly sweet- those spirits lack taste. The shot of whisky often placed on a spirit house is more like it, though.
