  2. This looks very dangerous. I see this all the time in Malaysia, sometimes a family of four squeezing onto a motorbike. But that’s life in some parts of Asia.

  3. Very reminiscent of the sites we saw on World Challenge on Vietnamese and Cambodian streets last summer. The big difference between the two countries seemed to be the use of helmets. More used in Vietnam than Cambodia.
I was ‘lucky’ on two occasions to ride back seat on a scooter.
In Nha Trang (Vietnam) with helmet – as I was transported to a Western Union bank by a Bar Owner who was putting our group up for the morning as we sourced transport to Buon Ma Thuot. Again in Siem Reap (Cambodia) without helmet – as I was transported by the ‘in-country agent’ from the local hospital where I had needed to stay looking after a sickly student to Angkor Wat for an amazing day cycling the ruins.
Both experiences were adrenaline rushes as we weaved in and out of traffic and along paths to avoid buses and other pedestrians. Loved it!

    • Only relatively recently did it become law for motorbike drivers to wear helmets in Cambodia and it is only sporadically enforced, There is no requirement for passengers to wear helmets although a law saying they must to so on its way…

  6. You would be amazed how many people can fit on a little motorbike and I love this photo but not as much as I like the fact that this bike carries 3 generations. Nice! 🙂
